Business Communications - How to play well with others
You're even more evil laugh last meeting of the executive of the sharp-tongued? Your inter-office communication is lacking inspiration? There is an interval of time between the word and the actions needed? Sometimes we just need to step back and take a good look at the communication errors that impact business relationships.
Chain of Command
Sometimes the problem is as simple as determining the specific chain of command. Who is responsible? It may not be what you think. Often as a business entity, responsible for the organization to begin to feel bigger than life, taking more than you can chew, and usurp the authority does not actually have. Once the chain of command is in place, everyone can rest easy by simply following position.
As a local guppy has put it, "If the food chain is in order, you know who is going to be biting your ass."
Clear and specific guidelines
It 's important to know how to effectively execute the tasks at hand. If a person is out of control, making the job difficult for others, not by following the procedures laid down, the game goes wrong and nobody wins. A procedures manual helps, but seriously ... Who has time to read all the instructions when you're busy with daily activities that keep the business running? Some guidelines are in-your-face simple, even stupid can understand.
You have learned the basics of Kindergarten, "Say please and thank you, ask before touching, and put things away when finished."
If in doubt, ask
In asking the wrong person can get in trouble too. The reality is, if you know the chain of command, and follow clear guidelines and specific (yes! The ones you learned in Kindergarten.), Then you're pretty much on solid ground danged! But, if all else fails, ask the person responsible. No, not the guppy peon who thinks he knows everything, or want to be your friend and help you, or even the best gem that responds well to your sex appeal (you review that recently?), But rather the person responsible for your concern.
In good faith, should be considered, "The person I'm asking for this to have a guarantor who may have a different opinion?" In that case, ask your supervisor!
Your vocabulary should not stop traffic to be understood. Office Communications can be fun and invigorating, or a total disaster. Consider your options of communication .......
