Student Blogging - Using Blogs daily classroom

Daily Blogging

The word blog is slang for web log, which is a "newspaper" which is available on the web. Educators are beginning to use blogs in a variety of ways. Some teachers use blogs to communicate with parents about events in their weekly class. Other educators use blogs to share their ideas and teaching experiences with colleagues.

Our sixth grade class has started using blogs to improve our writing through the sharing of class every day and the events of the school with parents and friends. Each student is assigned one day to write a blog about the events of the previous day. Students can write the blog at school or at home using Word Press.

I need bloggers to write a detailed item and change it to the best of their ability. Students take these assignments seriously, because every voice is valued and counted toward their brand of writing. Some students write their blog home after the day is over and those without computers or Internet access from home writing the next day at school with the help of a teaching assistant. In addition, students who struggle with writing use a program called Co-Writer to help to clarify more efficiently when you write your blog every day.

To start a class blog that there is no need to have a website or a large amount of computer knowledge. Http://www.wordpress.com or just visit one of the many free blogging tools to create your own class blog. Give it a try and add another dimension to the writing of the program .......
