Exiting the headlines in Facebook in 6 Steps

There is no doubt that for those who do business on the Internet, especially social networks and Facebook are very important to generate traffic to our websites and gain recognition "brand" for business. (Branding in English)

For this reason it is imperative to enjoy a "visibility" relevant in this network and it plays a fundamental role EdgeRank, which is more than the algorithm that uses Facebook to measure the relevance of the publications in their platform, to decide what to display in their headlines.

This algorithm is also the answer to "why having more than 1000 friends on Facebook, you only see a few updates, even though none of the others have stopped using Facebook": The difference is determined by the EdgeRank to your friends and followers.

I am sure that when you enter the options you have noticed Facebook "Headlines and Latest" on the right top of the dialog box on your Home tab:

The pages and more EdgeRank friends who will appear in the news updates in the "Headlines" and users with a low EdgeRank can even be shown that even in the "Most Recent".

On the other hand the default when you open the Facebook home page is "Headlines", so unless you ask all your friends to change this option to "Most Recent" they may not know what you are sharing, if your EdgeRank is not high, since it does not qualify for "Headlines".

For those who do business on the Internet the implications of this "detail" could make a big difference, both directly impact our presence in this social network.

But what factors EdgeRank measured? Here's the formula:

And the variables applied in the formula are explained as follows:

U-The degree of affinity between the user viewing the content and creating content. A higher level of increased interaction affinity.

W-The relevance of the content posted is the second factor taken into account, because Facebook understands that the higher is the interaction of your friends list with the content you post, the better should be the quality of your publications so assigning different scores going by the number of "Like", the number of comments or as often as the content is shared. Different types of interactions have different weight, for example, the comments have more weight than the "Like". D-News content is the third factor in the formula of the algorithm. New publications have greater weight than the "old".

So, how much higher the value of combinations of these variables, the higher your EdgeRank.

Now, I promised 6 Steps to qualify for Facebook Holders:

1. Interact with others to create a greater affinity. Share content of interest to invite other people to interact.

2. Ask others who share your content and to click "Like"

3. Post links (URLs) that can be shared. The text alone, without external links, does not have the option to be shared.

4.Comparte videos, have greater weight than links, besides being more viral, which invites people to share in turn.

5. Share photos. These are the ones most weight when EdgeRank measure.

6. Post your content manually. Do not use rss services provided or any other automatic option.

The observation of these 6 simple steps can greatly benefit your EdgeRank and therefore, your presence on Facebook.

I'd love to hear your comments Do you have any other suggestions that can add? I'd appreciate any contribution.

Ah! And remember to click "Like"
